Unfortunately, we’re writing to let you know that the Petal Revolution has come to a close. After four years on pause, we’re heartbroken to report that we’re officially shutting down the company.
Recently, we decided to test the murky waters of the e-commerce landscape by resuming our ads and getting consumer insights into whether we could definitively re-launch in 2025.
Our ads performed 60% better than the industry average, and our email click rates were a mind boggling 800% better than average, but the cold, hard truth is that the cost to manufacture, ship, warehouse, and deliver Petal far outweighs the cost that people are willing to pay for it. Given that tariff prices on imports are expected to rise under the new administration, the challenges ahead are insurmountable.
It goes without saying that we could never have embarked on this journey without you–many of whom have been with us since the very beginning. 💚🙏 Thank you, sincerely, from the bottom of our hearts for all your support.
We all know that Petal would improve lives by eliminating rot, stink, and germs from food scraps, baby diapers, adult incontinence products, kitty litter, and more. Our dream of helping improve compliance with municipal composting programs (especially in cities like NYC) felt so close—until it wasn’t. We’re still excited about shaping a better future for all people and the environment, but it won’t be with Petal. 😢
