Founder's Update

“The right word may be effective, but no word was ever as effective as a rightly timed pause.”

--Mark Twain

Petal Pioneers,

Though we have successfully navigated COVID until this point, we’ve recently been delivered an insurmountable one-two punch which has increased the anticipated cost to manufacture Petal by over 275%.

  • Shelter-in-place restrictions have increased the number of people who are eating at home. As a result, demand for food storage appliances (fridges and freezers) has increased and manufacturing capacity for these items has decreased coincidingly.
  • Newly developed COVID vaccines require freezing and refrigeration units for safe containment and transport. Rightly, appliance manufacturers are allocating what little capacity they have left to make vaccine freezing and refrigeration devices on behalf of governments worldwide.

This means we cannot currently or in the foreseeable future cost-effectively manufacture and deliver our product to you.

While this saddens us, we strongly believe that perfecting and delivering a COVID vaccine should be the world’s #1 priority, and we applaud appliance manufacturers for their focus on this effort. While it means that the Petal Revolution must be delayed, there’s no cause more important right now than a vaccine.

So, what’s next? We’ll let you know when we’re back to business again! Stay on our email list to receive news about Petal, Season 2.

We will remain diligent in pursuing our vision of clean, healthy, and sustainable environments for all.

Thank you for believing in us.
